A House Divided

However, Representative Andy Harris, who voted against McCarthy in the twelfth vote, flipped his vote to McCarthy in the thirteenth round.

“The House reconvened on Friday as the speaker election continued after McCarthy lost 11 ballots in a row.

McCarthy lost the 12th ballot on Friday, however, he picked up more votes from Republican holdouts.

A 13th vote is currently underway.

During the seventh round of voting in the contentious speakership battle, Congressman Matt Gaetz voted for Donald Trump as Speaker of the House.

Although seemingly unlikely, making Donald Trump third in line for President according to the 25th Amendment would make for a fairly amusing set of circumstances. Especially considering how Kamala Harris’ citizenship has always been in question.

I suppose we’ll know if any of this has the potential of coming true when the corporate media’s birtherism hysteria reaches 2008 levels.
