The corporate media assures everyone that the pair of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria were entirely “natural” events and that any mention of the earthquake’s possible linkage to the United States’ High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (Project HAARP), which involves the world’s largest “ionospheric heater”, a device designed to zap the skies hundreds of kilometers above the Earth with high-frequency radio waves, is mere conjecture.
“Conspiracy theorists responded to the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday by claiming that the natural disaster was caused by the U.S. government.
The 7.8-magnitude earthquake rattled both countries for roughly a minute, resulting in the known loss of at least 5,000 people so far. While most of the world looked on in horror, conspiracy theorists began alleging that a device known as HAARP was to blame.
HAARP or the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program is an ionospheric research project in Alaska funded by parts of the U.S. military as well as the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Conspiracy theorists say HAARP was designed to produce earthquakes and other natural disasters.
‘The earthquake in Turkey looks like a punitive operation (HAARP) by NATO or the U.S. against Turkey’, one user tweeted.
‘The video shows lightning strikes, which are not normal in earthquakes, but always happen in harp operations’.
In reality, the phenomenon, known as earthquake lights, has been well documented. Also, it remains unclear whether the flashing in the video is actually from lightning or a power grid substation being damaged during the earthquake.
Nevertheless, comments pointing the finger at HAARP spread like wildfire across social media.
‘Sad to hear about the earthquake in Turkey. It's very suspicious that there was lightning in the Sky before the disaster’, another user wrote. ‘If you don't know what project HAARP is then search it up. Coincidentally when Turkey was becoming a thorn in NATO's neck regarding Russia’.
Scientists and meteorologists, however, say that HAARP can not alter the weather, let alone cause earthquakes.
However, that doesn't stop HAARP from being invoked whenever a natural disaster strikes.
But while conspiracy theorists are busy online, the situation on the ground in Turkey and Syria continues to worsen. The World Health Organization has warned that the number of casualties could eventually surpass 20,000”. -Mikael Thalen, MSN

When one takes into account the ominous skies over Turkey, the advance warning from the Solar System Geometry Survey, and the Russian parliament's previously stated concern over the United States military’s development of quantitatively new, never-seen-before geophysical weapons that could influence the near-Earth medium with high-frequency radio waves, it further complicates trying to decide what to believe.
“The Russian State Duma has expressed concern about the United States’ program to develop a qualitatively new type of weapon.
‘Under the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP), the U.S. is creating new integral geophysical weapons that may influence the near-Earth medium with high-frequency radio waves’, the State Duma said.
‘The significance of this qualitative leap could be compared to the transition from cold steel to fire arms, or from conventional weapons to nuclear weapons. This new type of weapons differs from previous types in that the near-Earth medium becomes at once an object of direct influence and its component’.
These conclusions were made by the commission of the State Duma’s international affairs and defense committees, the statement reads. The committees reported that the U.S. is planning to test three facilities of this kind. One of them is located on the military testing ground in Alaska and its full-scale tests are to begin in early 2003. The Russians cautioned that the U.S. large-scale scientific experiments, under the HAARP program, will create weapons capable of breaking radio communication lines and equipment installed on spaceships and rockets, provoke serious accidents in electricity networks and in oil and gas pipelines, and have a negative impact on the mental health of people populating entire regions.
Such geophysical warfare may seem like an impossibility. However, assertions like the one made by the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez that HAARP is a tectonic weapon that was utilized to cause the catastrophic earthquake that leveled Haiti back in January of 2010, an accusation that directly preceded President Chavez's announcement that he had cancer, a disease he died from on March 5th, 2013, only serves to arouse suspicion even further.
