Ukraine Gravy Train Chugs Along

The White House has approved a new security assistance package of military aid for Ukraine that will provide up to three hundred million dollars, including additional munitions for drones and an array of other weapons, as Russia’s recent bombardment of Kiev marks the seventeenth round of attacks in the month of May alone.

“The White House on Wednesday announced the latest in a series of aid packages for Ukraine that includes up to $300 million worth of air defense systems, ammunition and other defense equipment.

The security assistance package represents the 39th drawdown of equipment from the Department of Defense inventories, the Pentagon said.

The package includes Patriot air defense batteries, Stinger anti-aircraft systems, tank ammunition and a list of other equipment, according to the Pentagon.

In total, the U.S. has committed more than $37.6 billion since Russia’s invasion in February of 2022”. -Trevor Hunnicutt, Reuters

These perpetual weapons shipments are simply the United States' way of prolonging the conflict in Ukraine while trying its best not to run the risk of triggering a direct conflict between the BRICS countries and NATO member states.

And, as the inevitable calls for more weapons emanate out from Kiev, U.S. stockpiles have become so depleted after a multitude of arms transfers to Ukraine that it has become increasingly likely that NATO armed forces will exhaust their capabilities and render themselves unable to fight or support an extended military campaign against the Russians.
