The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to intensify after Kiev’s recently launched its long-heralded “counteroffensive”, which has failed to make any significant gains thus far as the Ukrainian military has sustained heavy losses while also losing considerable amounts of Western-supplied hardware in the process.
“Kiev has lost hundreds of heavy equipment pieces this month, including units supplied by the West, according to Moscow.
Ukraine’s long-awaited counteroffensive has had no major impact on the front-line of the conflict so far, but has apparently resulted in large equipment losses for Kiev, according to Moscow.
Up to 30% of the heavy equipment supplied to Kiev by its Western backers has been destroyed by Russian troops, President Vladimir Putin said last week.
Almost a dozen videos, mostly published by the Russian Defense Ministry, have surfaced online in recent weeks, showing Ukrainian heavy equipment pieces being successfully targeted by Russian forces”. -RT
By now, there’s enough evidence to suggest that the Ukrainian offensive has proven more costly to Kiev and its NATO suppliers than it has for the Kremlin as the number of Ukrainian attacks has dialed down.
One can’t help but wonder whether these latest failures concerning Ukraine’s current military campaign are what prompted the neoconservative strategists' sudden urge for diplomacy and their unexpected calls for negotiations with Moscow.
