Russian authorities have confirmed that a private jet with Wagner Group founder Evgeny Prigozhin listed as a passenger crashed between Moscow and St. Petersburg, killing all ten people on board.

“Russia’s Federal Agency for Air Transport has launched an investigation into the crash of the Embraer plane in the Tver Region on Wednesday, the agency said noting that Yevgeny Prigozhin was among the passengers.

‘An investigation into the Embraer plane crash that occurred in the Tver Region this evening has been launched. According to the passenger list, the first and last name of Yevgeny Prigozhin was included in this list’, the agency noted.

The Embraer business jet crashed in the Tver Region near the settlement of Kuzhenkino. According to preliminary data, all ten people on board the plane have died. The plane was en route from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport to St. Petersburg”. -Lev Borodin, TASS

Treason doesn’t pay well in the end.

In any event, while Wagner’s role in Russia’s military operations in Ukraine has been heavily curtailed in the immediate aftermath of Prigozhin’s “march on Moscow”, the remaining question is whether the Wagner group can continue to be of aid in any viable form in the African states where it has been active in the wake of the mercenary boss’s reported death.
