Ukraine has reportedly targeted and destroyed the Russian landing ship Novocherkassk in the port city of Feodosia, located on the Crimean coast of the Black Sea.
“A Ukrainian attack has led to a blast and a fire in the port city of Feodosia in Russia’s Crimea, Governor Sergey Aksyonov said.
‘There was an enemy attack in the Feodosia area. The territory of the port has been closed off’, Aksyonov wrote on Telegram. He added that ‘the detonation has stopped’, and that first responders are working to put out the fire.
‘The residents of several houses will be relocated’, he wrote.
Aksyonov did not specify what exactly was hit during the attack or if there were any casualties”. -RT
While Ukraine's air force commander has claimed responsibility for the air attack in the Feodosia region of the Crimean Peninsula, the explosion in the port area marks a significant escalation in the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian conflict, just as President Vladimir Putin had purportedly signaled an interest in trying to bring about a ceasefire through intermediaries.
