Haley Ends White House Run

Nikki Haley has announced the suspension of her 2024 presidential campaign after losing every state but Vermont in Super Tuesday's primary contests, ceding the Republican nomination to Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump has become the presumptive Republican nominee in the 2024 election, after Nikki Haley suspended her campaign following the Super Tuesday primaries.

Trump swept 14 out of 15 states that held primaries, with Haley only winning in Vermont. At the end of the day, Trump stood at 995 Republican convention delegates – more than a tenfold lead over Haley’s 89.

‘The time has now come to suspend my campaign’, Haley told supporters in Charleston, South Carolina on Wednesday morning.

‘I have no regrets’, she said, noting that her mother, who immigrated from India, was able to vote for her daughter in a presidential primary.

‘In all likelihood Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee when our party convention meets in July. I congratulate him and wish him well’, she added”. -RT

Donald Trump has secured the Republican nomination over Nikki Haley at a time when Yemeni Houthi rebels have reportedly attacked a Barbados-flagged, Liberian-owned cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden, killing three of its crew members and marking the first casualties in the Zaydi Shiite movement’s operations against commercial shipping in response to Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

Given Haley’s constant emphasis on the alleged role of Iran in fueling conflicts across the Middle East through the backing of its proxies in the region, it seems fairly safe to assume that, even among Republican voters, her campaign platform of reinstating sanctions on Iran was about as unpopular as her candidacy.
