Trump Restored to Colorado Ballot

The U.S. Supreme Court has unanimously ruled to bar states from disqualifying candidates for federal office under a constitutional provision involving insurrection and reversing the Colorado Supreme Court's decision that Trump is ineligible to appear on the state's ballot under the 14th Amendment insurrection clause.



"Because the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the States, responsible for enforcing Section 3 [of the 14th Amendment] against federal officeholders and candidates, we reverse" the court ruling read.


In related news, Nikki Haley has defeated Donald Trump for the first time in her party’s Washington, D.C. primary, breaking Donald Trump's undefeated streak.


However, the Supreme Court decision came on the eve of Super Tuesday, when fifteen states, including Colorado, are scheduled to hold Republican nominating contests that could place Trump on the cusp of mathematically clinching the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
